Shades of Solitude

sol·i·tude.

“The state or situation of being alone.  A lonely or uninhabited place.  Even, a state of being alone without being lonely which can lead to self-awareness.”

For the most part my photography has always been a solitary pursuit.  I like to be alone when taking pictures, looking at the world not just with the viewfinder but also with my intuition, waiting for the moment that just feels right.  I try to capture those feelings when the shutter is pressed.

I think the images in this portfolio reveal a feeling of solitude:  moments of stillness and quiet, pondering and reflection.
